BANK OF ENGLAND IN RATE RISE HINT
The Bank of England (BoE) has signalled that the UK’s first interest rate hike in more than a decade may be fast approaching.
While the minutes of the latest Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting on 13 September showed a 7-2 majority in favour of keeping rates on hold at 0.25%, they also included new guidance indicating a readiness to increase rates in the coming months if price pressures continue to grow as expected. BoE Governor, Mark Carney reinforced this hawkish message saying the possibility of a rise in interest rates had “definitely increased”.
What a fantastic day at Carsington Water. Four local charities, Valley Cids, The MS Society, Children’s First Derby and Nottinghamshire Hospice all working together from across the region, with local businesses in support through a fantastic business network BNI.
£400 in total raised for these fantastic charities as well as great camaraderie from local businesses and families alike.
Sheldon Flanders are looking forward to supporting the next event

We’re always thrilled to hear positive feedback from our clients and wanted to share the lovely words from Karey at On Demand Business Support:
“Karen made renewing Life Insurance easy whilst offering expert advice on products and benefits of the various policies.”
“Karen and the team were professional, pleasant, and made the whole experience very easy. I would not hesitate to recommend Sheldon Flanders Financial Services, they will offer expert professional advice and talk you through the range of financial products available.”
Local charities from across the region are proactively working together to strengthen each other as well as the lives of vulnerable people both in the U.K. and abroad.
The Walk around Carsington, which takes place on the 9th of July 2017, is a celebration of this incredible community and an invitation to be part of it. Come along and join us with friends and family for a fun day out for just a voluntary donation of £5 per person.
Pensions are an ever topical and yet exciting subject, which at times appear ever complicated. Sheldon Flanders were asked to partner with leading firm Onpoint Financial and produce a Webinar which would look at the recent changes in pensions and what to look out for when choosing the right pension and provider for you.

Our good friends at Fire Safety Systems Nottingham have completed The Grand(ish) Tour, helping to raise funds for The School of Hope in Guatemala.
Sheldon Flanders Financial Services was proud to sponsor the guys as they made the 36-hour drive from Nottingham to Le Touquet in France, which was organised by UK-based Education for the Children (EFTC).
Not only did they manage to complete the grueling two-day adventure, but they also won! So from all of us at Sheldon Flanders, we’d like to say congratulations on your victory and well done for all your hard work raising money for such a worthy cause.

After a very successful first half of the year creating bespoke solutions for our clients, due mainly to the hard work and diligence of our staff, Sheldon Flanders decided to build on the team ethos and spend some quality time outside of the work environment.
We spent an amazing night at Nottingham Races cementing team relations, getting us ready to carry on the successes of the 1st half of the year.
Big thanks to Nathan Corden, one of the owners who ensured that we had top notch hospitality. We would thoroughly recommend the races for a great night out.
Last month, our very own Karen Sheldon — along with Simon Ward from Pro-Aktiv in Nottingham, and Matt Benselin from Go Pro Services in Long Eaton — helped raise £1669 by taking to the skies and jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet to help support the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) life-saving research.
The BHF is leading the fight against heart and circulatory disease in the UK, which is responsible for nearly 160,000 UK deaths each year – around one every three minutes. Thanks to fundraisers like Karen, Matt and Simon, the BHF will fund half a billion pounds of new research over the next five years which will be central to discovering vital treatments for people living with heart conditions.
Karen said: “Supporting the BHF was an easy decision as it’s a worthy cause. So many people are affected by heart problems and more research is desperately needed. It’s so important to support the BHF, as they don’t receive government funding for their research. As I am in a position to help, I feel I should, and I’m so glad I did the skydive.”
Sophie Parkins, BHF Area Fundraising Manager in the East Midlands, said: “We are so grateful to Karen, Simon and Matt for taking on this challenge and raising such an incredible amount of money. Skydiving is a fantastic way to do something unforgettable to raise vital funds to help the BHF continue its life-saving research. Please, join our fight for every heartbeat, and sign up to become a Heart Flyer today.”
